A Summer Healthy Lunch Program

GOT LUNCH! Laconia is a collaboration of community partners coming together to feed the children of Laconia during the summer months.  Working together are religious institutions, businesses, non-profits and individuals throughout Laconia, all helping to feed the children in this community.


GOT LUNCH! Laconia recognizes that there are many children in our community who are in need.  We are focused on feeding children healthy food during the summer months.


School statistics state that currently, on average, 57% of Laconia’s school aged children qualify for free and reduced priced lunches and the rate in some schools is as high as 70%.   When school is not in session these children most likely are missing at least one meal and maybe two if they were also receiving free breakfast.

Every year, fifth-grade students run the Woodland Heights School Store, with the guidance of a fifth-grade teacher. At the beginning of the school year, students have the opportunity to apply for a “job” to work at the store. Students are required to fill out an application, answer money questions, and obtain parental permission. Students are then “hired” and come in early one day a week to set up and run the store.
